What to do when you find an animal

Have a vet read its microchip or tattoo: most practices do it free, and it is the surest way to find its family.
Tell the town hall where you found it: it is responsible for stray animals.
Don’t keep it without telling anyone: its family may be looking for it.

These pointers are not legal advice: the rules vary from one country and town to another.
