What Patte Blanche does

Patte Blanche gathers listings of animals for adoption, published by shelters, associations, breeders and private individuals, compares them with what a family says about its life, and forwards its application to the organisation. The organisation alone decides on the adoption; we neither sell nor give away any animal.

What is free

Searching, creating a file, applying, being chosen, signing the certificate: free for families. Posting and managing listings is free for organisations. The “Featured” placement and the social media boost are the only paid services, and nothing above depends on them (see prices).

Listings

A listing is published under the responsibility of whoever posts it, or of the source that publishes it when we collect it; each listing says where it comes from. We do not rewrite what an organisation publishes. An organisation can withdraw one listing, or all of them, at any time.

Applying

Your file is only read by the organisations you apply to; your contact details only reach them once they choose you. An organisation receives applications in order of arrival, unranked: we do not rank families. The certificate of commitment opens a legal cooling-off period before the transfer (French Rural Code, art. L214-8).

How results are ordered

The criteria, and the weight of the only paid placement, are published on the ranking page.

Reports and moderation

Anyone can report illegal content to us, with their name, email and a good-faith statement. A person reviews each report — within 24 hours when an animal may be in danger, 7 days otherwise — and decides without automated processing. A decision gives reasons (facts, rule, duration) and can be appealed: a person replies with reasons within 15 days. This appeal does not prevent going to court or to an out-of-court dispute body.

Your account

You can download your data and delete your account at any time from “My account”. An account unused for two years is deleted, after notice. What we keep, and for how long, is described in “Your data”.
