Terms and conditions of sale — pet care
Draft — to be checked by a lawyer. These terms are not in force: no paid booking is open today.
Version of 31/10/2026.
Two contracts coexist: the family buys from Patte Blanche an intermediation and payment service (the service fees), and buys from the sitter the care itself, which Patte Blanche collects on the sitter’s behalf. These terms cover both.
Who sells what
The intermediation and payment service is sold by Patte Blanche — Claire Van De Sype, SIREN 992 289 835, 46 rue Marx Dormoy, bâtiment A, 75018 Paris, France, claire.vandesype@patteblanche.io, +33 7 44 96 09 72. The care is sold by the sitter, whose page says whether they are a private individual or a professional and, for a professional, their identity and contact details.
Subject
Patte Blanche puts a family in touch with a sitter, collects the price of the care on the sitter’s behalf through Stripe, pays it to them after the stay, and provides the animal’s record book and a model contract. Patte Blanche is not the sitter and does not guarantee the care.
Pet care: what you need to know
Price and fees
The price of the care is set by the sitter. The family adds service fees of 15 % of that price, with no cap. The total price including fees is shown before any request. Patte Blanche deducts a 10 % commission from the sitter’s price. TVA non applicable, art. L. 223-3 du CIBS.
Payment and payout
The family pays by card, through Stripe Payments Europe, an authorised payment service provider, within 24 hours of the sitter’s acceptance; the stay is only booked once paid. The sitter is paid 24 hours after the end of the stay, unless a report is open. A paid stay lasts 30 days at most.
Withdrawal
Every paid stay gives the family a 14-day right of withdrawal from payment, free of charge, for the care and the service fees — whoever the sitter is, private individual or professional.
If the stay begins before the end of these 14 days, the family expressly requests that it begin and acknowledges that once the stay has been fully performed, they can no longer withdraw (French Consumer Code, art. L221-25 and L221-28).
Withdrawal before the first day refunds everything; after the start, the refund is proportional to the days not performed, service fees included at the same rate. It is carried out without delay and at the latest within fourteen days.
Withdrawal is made from the booking, using the “Withdraw from the contract here” button, or with the form below sent to the publisher. An acknowledgement is sent immediately.
Model withdrawal form
(Complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.)
To Patte Blanche — Claire Van De Sype, 46 rue Marx Dormoy, bâtiment A, 75018 Paris, France, claire.vandesype@patteblanche.io:

Cancellation
Outside the withdrawal period, a cancellation by the family follows the scale chosen by the sitter and shown before payment; the service fees follow the same percentage. A sitter who cancels triggers a full refund, fees included. The scales:
- Flexible: 100 % refunded at least 1 day(s) before the first day, 50 % after that.
- Moderate: 100 % refunded at least 7 day(s) before the first day, 50 % after that.
- Strict: 50 % refunded at least 7 day(s) before the first day, 0 % after that.
Private individual or professional
Each sitter page states their status. With a professional, the family has a consumer’s rights. Between private individuals, consumer law does not apply, nor does the legal guarantee of conformity; the 14-day right of withdrawal is provided for by these terms, and for hidden defects the French Civil Code applies.
French Civil Code, art. 1641 et seq.
The care of the animal
The family hands over the animal with its record book, instructions and the name of its veterinarian; the sitter returns it at the end of the stay. During the stay, the sitter has custody of the animal within the meaning of article 1243 of the French Civil Code. The model care contract is provided by Patte Blanche; the parties complete it.
Insurance
Patte Blanche neither provides nor recommends any insurance. A professional sitter holds professional liability insurance; each party checks their own cover.
Reports, disputes and mediator
The family can report a problem from the handover of the animal until 24 hours after the end of the stay; the payout to the sitter is then suspended, and Patte Blanche decides with reasons within 7 days. A complaint is addressed to the publisher using the contact details in the legal notice. A consumer may also use a consumer mediator free of charge (French Consumer Code, art. L612-1).
The consumer mediator will be named here before bookings open.
Data
What we keep from a booking, what Stripe receives, and the sitters’ tax details (DAC7) are described in “Your data”.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by French law. They do not deprive a consumer residing in another country of the Union of the protection afforded by the law of that country.
